Dr Linthoi Akoijam is an experienced Clinical Child Psychologist with over 25 years of expertise in guiding children, adolescents, and adults through mental health challenges. Her rich career spans a diverse array of settings: community clinics, hospitals, schools, and NGOs across India, Australia, the UK, and New Zealand. From tackling anxiety and depression to addressing relationship issues and trauma, Dr. Akoijam’s work is as varied as it is impactful. Specialising in the emotional well-being of young people, she brings a wealth of experience to her practice, offering compassionate support and effective strategies for clients of all ages.

Linthoi’s work is guided and informed by evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Compassionate Focused Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Systemic therapies. In addition, she works with parents, focusing on improving relationships between the child and caregiver, tuning in to the emotions of children/young persons, and managing behaviour/emotion effectively.

She believes working in collaboration with the client and family/caregiver has a strong belief in the innate nature of human compassion and recognises the importance of not just the biological but socio-cultural influences on the mental health and emotional well-being of individuals and families.
