Dr Leon is a Western Australian psychiatrist with over nine years of experience across inpatient and outpatient mental health settings. He is committed to providing individualised, evidence-based care and works collaboratively with patients, GPs, and other health professionals to ensure treatment aligns with each person’s values, goals, and lifestyle.

With broad training in psychiatry, Dr Leon is experienced in the use of both medications and psychotherapies. Dr Leon supports adults experiencing a range of mental health difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and perinatal challenges. His approach is compassionate and client-centred, with a focus on creating a safe, supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered in their recovery journey.

Alongside his private practice, Dr Leon also works in the public sector in adult and perinatal psychiatry. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family and connecting with nature.

Experience with First Responders and Defence Personnel
Dr L has treated patients who have been first responders, as well as military and ex-military personnel. Having served in the Singaporean military himself, he brings an additional understanding of the demands of service life. While he has not undertaken specialised training in the psychiatric management of this cohort, his psychiatric training included the treatment of conditions common among first responders and defence personnel, such as PTSD, panic disorder, and major depressive disorder. Dr L has also published research exploring dissociative experiences, including psychotic symptoms, in trauma-exposed populations such as this group.

Please note: Dr Leon does not provide diagnosis or treatment for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or eating disorders.
